Embracing Spring as a Season of Change in Your Homeschool

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”  -Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Spring is fully upon us here in Texas. Spring brings with it new life and a refreshing sense of expectation of what is around the corner. Then, if you’re like me, you wonder just what is around the corner?

Spring Planning

Spring is when I begin planning my next school year like many other homeschool mamas.

Can I encourage you to really pray about what your school year will look like? Step out of the box for a minute and ask yourself,

“How does this activity, curriculum, or co-op benefit my child AND my family?”

We were not created to be Wonder Woman and do everything. We ARE created to be obedient to what WE are called to do. No two families were ever meant to be the same.

Spring Change

As exciting as new things are, they also mean change. But oftentimes change brings a fear that grips our heart.

With change, something has to stop to make way for something new. That means we must leave our comfort zone and venture into uncharted territory. Yikes!

But, over time, we make it through the transition and we realize everything will be ok, just different.

Spring Metamorphosis
Think about a caterpillar contentedly crawling along on the ground. The caterpillar thinks things are really great in his current form, BUT he is called to change and become a butterfly.

Being a butterfly will allow him to soar to places that being a caterpillar never would have gone.

Spring-Ahead Unafraid
As we enjoy the changing of the season and marvel at the plan God has for this earth, I challenge you to really look at your homeschool and see if there is a growth that God has for you too.

Don’t be afraid to change. To everything, there is a season.
