Kimberly Vogel, SPED Homeschool Team Member

Kimberly Vogel began working with children when she was just a child herself - in church teaching. Her career began after college when she taught in a private school before having her family. When her youngest was in first grade, the family made the huge jump to homeschooling and never looked back! As soon as she brought her daughter home to homeschool her, she noticed how much the child struggled to learn. After years of not knowing what else to do, and having no one to turn to, Kimberly took courses with the National Institute of Learning Development to become a Professional Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) and a Certified Dyslexia Therapist (CDT).

Because of her journey, Kimberly has a passion for encouraging families and educating struggling learners, which is the tagline on her blog - Kimberly A Vogel. Kimberly lives this, she doesn’t just write about it as she does speaking engagements, and runs the Thinking and Learner Center, which is her educational therapy business.

In addition to homeschooling her kids, (two have graduated homeschooling and two are left), being a wife to her husband of 21 years, Kevin (which involves fishing), running her educational therapy business, and blogging, Kimberly is a published author. She also enjoys encouraging and educating families about Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia through speaking engagements. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys all kinds of crafts, but mostly those involving yarn.

Kimberly’s services involve:
  • Curriculum suggestions for struggling learners. This service is a ministry for SPED homeschool families. (Limit one a week)

  • Reading cognitive (IQ) test reports for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia or other related issues (even if still undiagnosed) and helping parents to translate it to be understood, along with giving curriculum suggestions. This service is a ministry for SPED homeschool families. (Limit one a month)
